Have you tried Mozilla for OS/2-eCS? or Phoenix for OS/2?
http://www.mozilla.org - open source browser for an open
source os.

I don't have OS2 (I like to keep track of it, though), it
comes up under IE 6.0 and Mozilla 1.4.

Poll about kernel on www.osfree.org

#982 Poll about kernel on www.osfree.org

Hi,

I've seen the poll about which kernel should be used for osFree.
Does anybody believe that this poll is usefull? I think the
developer should decide this question.

On the website I've read osFree should be compatible with OS/2 4.0.
How much compatible? Only for Applications?
(I think 16 Bit OS/2 Applications shouldn't be supported)

What about Drivers? Most Drivers are 16 Bit.
I've seen that some Drivers are 32 Bit. (JFS.IFS, UFS.IFS...)
Would it be an option to support only 32 Bit OS/2 Drivers?
Are the 32 Bit DeviceHelper Functions (KEE) documented by IBM?
Is it possible to write pure 32 Bit Drivers?

Well, the Driver Question is tight with the kernel. Is someone
working on the kernel? Is an existing kernel used?

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/os2ddprog (IIRC on the URL). A group for
making device
drivers.

PS How does one determine an OS/2 16 bit program and a OS/2 32 bit program?

PSS IIRC - I did not see anyone working on the kernal at

I once sent an e-mail to the authro of WinCam to see if it would be
updated or have the source code released. He sent me the source code.
This result would probably be rare but I think it would be great if
others asked authors of older software the same question; "will it be
updated
or can you release the source code if it isn't?"

*12 Reasons Andreessen Is Hot On Open Source
It would be neat if some of this would rub off on those
who desire a clone of OS/2 .

TomLeeM/BigWarpGuy

PS At least with OSFree, SCO can not sue for taking/using
their source code without permssion.
