/W Compiler Option

Syntax: Default:
/W[0|1|2|3] /W3

Use /W to set the severity level of messages the compiler produces, which causes the error count to increment.

By default (/W3)), the compiler produces and counts all message types (severe error, error, warning, and informational).

You can set the following severity levels:

/W0 Produce and count only severe errors.
/W1 Produce and count severe errors and errors.
/W2 Produce and count severe errors, errors, and warnings.
/W3 Produce and count all message types (severe error, error, warning, and informational).
