Uninstall IBM C and C++ Compilers

The uninstall program for IBM C and C++ Compilers deletes the desktop folder or program groups, any environment variables that were set during the install, the product tree, and the product information from the registry for Windows or from the product .ini file for OS/2. On Windows, uninstalling the product also removes all files and subdirectories from the product directory. Therefore, before you uninstall IBM C and C++ Compilers, you should move any user files you wish to keep to a different directory.

Before you uninstall IBM C and C++ Compilers, make sure that you have rebooted your computer since IBM C and C++ Compilers was initially installed.

Windows

  1. From the Start menu, select Programs - IBM C and C++ Compilers Version 3.6- UnInstall and follow the instructions to complete the uninstall.

OS/2

  1. Open the IBM C and C++ Compilers Version 3.6 folder.
  2. Double-click Uninstall IBM C and C++ Compilers. The IBM C and C++ Compilers - Install Actions window opens.
  3. Follow the instructions to complete the uninstall.
  4. Note that the OS/2 Toolkit component is not uninstall during the IBM C and C++ Compilers uninstall. This is because the OS/2 Toolkit could be shared with the VisualAge C++ Professional, or could have been an overlay of a previous OS/2 Toolkit. To delete the OS/2 Toolkit,
    1. open the Workplace Shell object in "X:\OS2\INSTALL\Installed Features\PPAK_FI - Inventory", (where X: is your OS/2 boot partition),
    2. select the PPAK_FI Inventory check box,
    3. and click Uninstall.

AIX

You must have root user access to uninstall this product.

  1. At the command line, type smit install_remove and press Enter. The Remove Installed Software window appears.
  2. On the SOFTWARE Name line, press PF4 or click List. A list of the available software filesets appears.
  3. Select all IBM C and C++ filesets, then press Enter or click OK.
