Advanced New Design
The Advanced New Design dialog allows you to
create a new design while specifying the deletion behavior,
saving options, application type, and resource format. The dialog
is divided into two tabs: Definitions and Distribution.
Definitions Tab
The Basename entry field is
used for specifying the base for the resource file names. The IRE
will use the base name for the design, include and IPF files as
well. The Include entry field is used for
entering the full file name of the include file.
The following options allow you to set up the
saving and deleting behavior, and the target operating
environment of your design:
- RES saves the resources
directly to a resource file (.RES) instead of a resource
script file (.RC). This saves significant time as an .RC
file must be compiled with a resource compiler. It also
allows features-specific resources, such as the
control-focus feature, to be enabled.
- RC saves the resources in
a resource script file which must be compiled by the
resource compiler
- Borland.RC saves the
resources in a resource script file which must be
compiled by the Borland resource compiler
- None prevents advanced
deletion control from occurring when items deleted or
renamed in the design are properly deleted or renamed in
the resource script, include header, and IPF files
- Don't verify causes
advanced deletion control to occur when deleted or
renamed items in the design are properly deleted or
renamed in the resource script, include header, and IPF
files
- Verify on save causes a
dialog box to be displayed when you save the design,
showing all the items that have been deleted or renamed,
thereby allowing you to select items that will be deleted
or renamed from the resource script, include header, and
IPF files
- Include file saves the
include file (.H) when symbols are added
- IPF file updates the IPF
file each time the design file is saved
- OS/2 1.x bases the design
and the resource script file on the OS/2 1.x Presentation
Manager environment
- OS/2 2.x bases the design
and the resource script file on the OS/2 2.x Presentation
Manager environment
- Warp bases the design and
resource script file on the OS/2 Warp Presentation
Manager environment
- Presentation Manager
bases the design on a Presentation Manager type of
application
- Workplace bases the
design on a Workplace Shell type of application
There are Cancel and Set buttons along
the bottom of the dialog box.
