The Integrated Resource Editor (IRE) allows you to edit resources and create dialog boxes efficiently. The IRE edits both OS/2 and Windows resources, and converts resources from one platform to the other.
This tool can create a text file with an .rc file extension. Previously, this type of file could only be constructed using a text editor with dialog box script output from the Dialog Box Editor. In addition, the IRE can also read and write an include file extension containing the symbol definition used in constructing window and dialog box elements.
The title bar running along the top of the IRE's main window shows the names of both the integrated resource file (IRF) and the include (.h) file you are creating or editing. An asterisk (*) next to either name indicates the file has been changed since last being saved.
