The Arrange Controls dialog displays all of the controls defined in the current window or dialog within a list box. This list box is divided into three columns: Control Text, IDs, and Control Type.
When you select an item in the list box, you will notice that as you move the pointer within the list box, its shape changes from the normal arrow to a bar. When the pointer is in the lower half of an entry, it appears as an arrow to allow you to select that particular item. Conversely, when it is in the upper half of an entry, its bar shape indicates that you can move the selected entry to this position.
It is also possible to select groups of controls with the Shift/Ctrl/left button list box selection interface. The controls are moved to a new location in order of appearance even if you are skipping controls.
You can also move a control by selecting it with your mouse and left clicking. With the mouse button pressed, you can move the mouse around within the window or dialog. When you release the mouse button, the control moves to that location. While performing this operation, the x and y position of the lower left corner of the control will be displayed within the status window in the bottom right corner of the IRE window.
To move a group of controls, you can press the Alt key and left click the mouse. While you move the mouse around, the tracking frame will be displayed showing the relative position the group would have if it is moved. The x and y positions within the status window at the bottom of the IRE window will show the absolute position. When you release the mouse button, the controls moves to the chosen location.
If the entry selected contains the bitmap preface (*), a push button labeled Delete tab appears at the bottom right of the dialogue. Selecting this button removes the TAB indicator from the control. Conversely, if the control is not preceded by an asterisk, a push button labeled Tab, allows you to put a TAB indicator on the control.
There are Cancel and Accept buttons along the bottom of the dialog box.
