Cutting
Select the Cut item in the Edit
menu or the Cut button on the toolbar to cut selected controls,
windows or dialog boxes and place them on the clipboard. You can
retrieve it later by pasting the design information into another
design file or the same file. Note: that when
you use Cut, you are essentially deleting the controls, windows
or dialog boxes from the current design file.
Copying
Select the Copy item in the Edit menu
or the Copy button on the toolbar to copy
selected controls, windows or dialog boxes to the clipboard. You
can retrieve the information later by pasting it into another
design file or back into the current one. Copy will leave the
current version of the controls, windows, or dialog boxes you are
designing in the design file.
Pasting
Select the Paste item in the Edit
menu or the Paste button on the toolbar to paste
controls, windows or dialog boxes from the clipboard into the
IRE. If you have a window or dialog box currently displayed, you
will be asked if you want the current window or dialog box
replaced with the one you are pasting. Selecting the Yes
push button will cause the current window or dialog box to be
replaced with the one from the clipboard. Selecting the No
push button will cause the current window or dialog box to be
stored in memory before the window or dialog box on the clipboard
into the design file. If you do not have any window or dialog box
displayed, the window or dialog box from the clipboard will be
pasted into the design file and immediately displayed to allow
you to work on it. The original ID for the window or dialog box
will be deleted, and a new one will be used in its place. After
the paste operation, the Window/Dialog Styles
dialog box will be displayed in which you can change the styles
of the window or dialog box, including a new ID symbol and
function name. When you are pasting controls, the controls will
be pre-selected as a group to allow you to easily move them to a
new location if desired.
