Child Window Styles
Styles Tab
- The Child Window Styles dialog box
contains entry fields that allow you to define the child
window you are creating. The multi-line entry, Title,
is used for the title-bar text. In the second field, ID,
you enter the ID symbol of the window and a value. There
are Cancel
and Enter buttons along the
bottom of the dialog box.
Options:
- Title bar includes a
title bar in the window
- System menu includes a
system menu in the window
- Horz. scroll bar includes
a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the window
- Vert. scroll bar includes
a vertical scroll bar at the right of the window
- Visible specifies that
the window is to be initially visible. Even if this
option is not selected, the window is still displayed,
allowing you to design it properly.
- Size border includes a
sizing border as the frame of the window
- Border includes a simple
border as the frame of the window
- Dialog frame includes a
dialog box frame as the frame of the window
- System modal causes the
window to be system modal. A system modal window or
dialog box, when used, does not allow the focus to be
directed to other windows that might be active. This
option should be used only when you need the attention of
the user of the application for a critical process, and
should be used sparingly.
- Min button includes a
minimize icon in the window
- Max button includes a
maximize icon in the window
- Auto icon prevents the
WM_PAINT message from being sent to the window when it is
minimized. It is generally used to increase performance.
Distribution Tab contains two sub-tabs: Window and Help
Tables.
