Run the Make Utility

Run the Make utility by typing nmake on the command line. Press Ctrl+C at any time during a run to return to the operating system.

You can supply commands to the Make utility two ways:

A response file is a command file used to extend command-line input to the make utility. You can split input between the command line and a command file. A response file is not the same as a makefile.

Use a response file for:

Do not use the ampersand character (&) to combine the make utility command with the CD, CHDIR, or SET command.
