Statics Styles (Expert Mode)
Styles Tab
- The Static Styles dialog box allows you to
set the text, ID symbol, value, and styles for a static
control. You can enter the text for the static control in
the multi-line entry, Text. The ID
symbol and value are entered in the ID
field. Initially, the ID field will
contain a value automatically generated by the IRE. You
can edit the symbolic ID and the value for the static or,
if the symbol and value you want to use have already been
defined in the include header file, you can easily select
them from the drop-down list. There are Cancel and Enter buttons along the bottom of the dialog box.
This dialog has the following options:
- Text specifies that the
control as static text
- Group box specifies that
the control as a group box
- Icon specifies the
control as an icon
- Bitmap specifies the
control as a bitmap
- Sys icon specifies the
control as a system icon
- Auto size sizes the
control area automatically to the control text
- Foreground rect.
specifies the control as a foreground rectangle
- Halftone rect. specifies
the control as a half-tone rectangle
- Background rect.
specifies the control as a background rectangle
- Foreground frame
specifies the control as a foreground frame
- Halftone frame specifies
the control as a half-tone frame
- Background frame
specifies the control as a background frame
- Left aligned aligns the
static text to the left in the limits of its display
rectangle
- Horz. centered centers
the static text horizontally in the limits of its display
rectangle
- Right aligned aligns the
static text to the right in the limits of its display
rectangle
- Top aligned aligns the
static text to the top in the limits of its display
rectangle
- Vert. centered centers
the static text vertically in the limits of its display
rectangle
- Bottom aligned aligns the
static text to the bottom in the limits of its display
rectangle
- Word wrap breaks the
static text at a space or word break into two or more
lines to fit in the limits of its display rectangle as
determined by its width and height. You should also
select the Top align option if you want this option to
provide the word breaking as intended. Note:
When you use the Word wrap text option, you can force a
break in the text that you enter using either /n or /r
where the word break is to occur, or by pressing the Enter
key at that point.
- Halftone shows the static
text in half-tone
- Mnemonic allows a
mnemonic association for the static text. The mnemonic is
denoted by the tilde character (~) before the letter that
is to act as the mnemonic and will appear underlined when
drawn.
