Bidirectional Support
The Bidirectional Support dialog is used to
change the bidirectional characteristics of controls within the
dialog or window you are currently designing. You can set the
following:
Window orientation:
- Left to right orients the
window in the bottom left corner
- Right to left orients the
window in the bottom right corner
Text types:
- Visual displays the text
type as defined through the text orientation option
- Implicit displays the
text in the order of the characters typed on the keyboard
Symmetric swapping types:
- On swaps characters such
as brackets, braces and parentheses
- Off does not swap
characters such as brackets, braces and parentheses
Text orientation:
- Left to Right displays
the text starting from the left and moving to the right
- Right to left displays
the text starting from the right and moving to the left
- Contextual displays the
text either left to right or right to left based upon the
first strong character
Word break types:
- On allows word
recognition
- Off prevents word
recognition
Numeric types:
- Nominal displays only
nominal (i.e. Arabic) numerals
- Pass through displays
numerals as stored
- National displays only
national (i.e. Hindi) numerals
- Contextual displays
numerals based on the surrounding text
Character shape determination:
- Display shaped
automatically shapes the text that is stored in a
nominal/base shape upon display
- Save shaped the display
shaped character shape determination is already shaped
and ready for display
- Nominal the nominal
character shape determination is displayed and stored in
its nominal (base) shapes
- Initial the initial
character shape determination is already shaped and ready
for display
- Middle the middle
character shape determination is already shaped and ready
for display
- Final the final character
shape determination is already shaped and ready for
display
- Isolated the isolated
character shape determination is already shaped and ready
for display
There are Cancel and Enter buttons along
the bottom of the dialog box.
